We tend to associate watercolor with landscapes, sunsets, and maybe a cute kids book.
But did you know that watercolors are also used to make some really cool stuff like luchadors, devils, and pineapples (what can I say — I love pineapple).
That's why we created the Lotería Procreate Brush & Tutorial Pack. It's a simple little collection of paints and ink designed to make cool looking illustrations (even if you've never touched watercolors).
This is a watercolor pack for the person who finds traditional watercolor boring and wants to find some fun ways to use it.
Here's what you get in the pack:
- 15 watercolor and ink brushes. Seriously, we tested and cut brushes out of this pack like three times to make sure there was no garbage.
- 1 Fast Track Video Tutorial. Brad Woodard will guide you through your first illustration from sketch to final piece in seven minutes. Easy even if you've never used watercolor.
- 1 Brush Demo Video. Brad Woodard demonstrates each brush and explains the best uses for each.
- No-Stress Instructions. Get up and running in less than five minutes with our easy to follow instructions.
- Behaves like natural media. The brushes were gone over with a fine tooth comb to be sure we did everything possible to emulate the feel of natural media.
- Bonus Wet Edge Brushes. A classic giveaway of watercolor is the dark pigmented edge of the paint. Nail the look with a soft and hard edged water brush.

Watercolor art has become boring.
It's used in greeting cards with washes of purple and pink. Sometimes it shows up in some strange place like the branding for a life coach.
No bueno.
Luckily for you we've come up with a solution. Consider this pack a system reset for your brain and watercolors.
The Lotería Brush & Tutorial Pack is a set of watercolor brushes, pens, and pencils designed to help you make illustrated watercolor art.
When we made these watercolor brushes we looked to some of the coolest watercolor art we could find — lotería art.
Lotería is the traditional Mexican game of chance. The game is based around colorful and folksy illustrations on cards. Each one made with watercolor and pen.
Here's a breakdown of each brush you're going to get:
Flat Filler. Works like a simple ink brush. Use it to build out forms quickly. Pressure sensitivity and a very subtle tooth which make it easy to make any shape.
Edge Filler. Works like a simple ink brush but with a heavier tooth. Pressure sensitivity and a very subtle tooth which make it easy to make any shape.
Standard Pencil. A classic pencil so you can block out your composition quick and easy. Also can serve as a colored pencil.
HB2 Pencil. A softer pencil for quick sketches, shading, or adding watercolor shading to your illustrations.
Runny Micron. Watercolor paint and pens go hand in hand. This runny Micron-style pen gives you organic lines which define paint colors.
Dry Micron. A more dry and chunky version of the Runny Micron.
Classic Pen. A very smooth and even pen. Perfect for line work that requires a steady hand. Essential for lotería art.
El Watercolor Perfecto. A powerful high-flow watercolor brush perfect for foreground and background work. Achieve near-magic multi-tonal effects which are highly sought after in digital watercolor brushes.
Grainy Brush. Need to add a little more grit to your watercolor? Just apply the grainy brush for the instant illusion of the imperfections of watercolor pigment on paper.
Dry Blender. A blender brush designed specifically for watercolor. Blend washes and glazes and achieve beautiful realistic multi-tonal textures and colors.
Watercolor Brush. A classic watercolor brush that behaves like a watercolor brush loaded with water. Perfect for washes and glazes.
Salt Wash. A rich and nuanced watercolor brush that lifts colors and adds texture to bring illustration work to the foreground.
Sponge Wash. A texture brush that works excellent for adding textures to select areas of a wash.
Flat Wash. A stripped down and simple wash. Very little texture makes it perfect for using brushes like the Grainy Brush, Sponge Wash, and Dry Blender to customize how the water behaves.
Sponge Wash. A texture brush that works excellent for adding textures to select areas of a wash.
Heavy Shader. Illustration work with watercolor paints requires high contrast dark shades for shadow. This brush hwas designed exclusively for adding gritty shading.
Watercolor Hard Edge. Give the edges of your watercolor glazes a classic dark pigmented edge with ease. These are just for the edge of your work which means you can control exactly how the pigment gathers.
Watercolor Soft Edge. Similar to the Watercolor Hard Edge but with a softer touch.
